This report draws on four focus groups with sociologists working in a range of post-1992 universities in England. Participants taught within sociology departments or delivered sociology to students in other subject areas. While the sample is not intended to be representative, the report identifies recurring themes in learning and teaching and uses extended participant accounts to preserve the detail and nuance of the discussions.
