Synopsis
This edited collection considers how individuals and communities maintain relationships with their surroundings before, during and after catastrophic events through sport and physical activity. Drawing on international case studies, it examines the social, economic, ecological and moral injustices that shape experiences of catastrophe. Its topics include skateboarding, former child soldiers, extractive industries, mountain biking and urban exploration, offering interdisciplinary perspectives on capitalism, nature, sociality, morality and identity.
